Sunbeams is designed for 5-7 year olds with their parents actively participating. Your child will be educated in piano playing, singing, listening skills, rhythm, and music reading and writing. Each class is an exciting hour that includes many activities. Most of our activities are hands-on, using instruments, puppets, games, magnets, rhythm writing tools and more.

The successful Sunbeams 1 student is engaged in class and practices regularly at home. Several new concepts are introduced weekly and the complexity of piano playing increases continually.  By the end of the year, they can read notes on the grand staff and are playing scales hands together. They have learned about different composers, rhythms, composed their own songs, and know how to harmonize notes,  I will be offering a new Sunbeams class beginning September 2024.

​Each year, at the time of registration, parents pay a Materials Fee.  This amount is sent to MYC Head office and pays for all materials for the year.  For first time students, the materials fee includes the MYC books for your level, a tin sheet with magnets, a castanet, a technique toolbox, and an MYC bag to carry all your music items to and from class!
