Sunshine is the program designed for 3-4 yr olds. Children must be turning four by November to enter this program.  We introduce piano playing, singing, rhythm, and reading skills in a fun relaxed environment.

Each week one new concept is introduced, so a few minutes each day to review at home ensures that children progress at the appropriate rate. The program runs from September through May with weekly one hour classes. The children are taught in small groups, each having a participating partner (parent) to support them through the class. Sunshine students learn through “critter” friends that make musical concepts come to life in an age-appropriate way.  The activities, songs, puppets, games and stories hold the attention of this age group and reinforce concepts that would otherwise seem complicated.

Students in the Sunshine program will learn all the notes on the keyboard as well as notes on the staff: Treble Clef C, D, E & Bass Clef C & B.  They also will be able to identify patterns, play in ensembles, learn basic theory & be able to identify rhythms through ear and sight.
I will be offering new Sunshine programs beginning September 2024.

Each year, at the time of registration, parents pay a Materials Fee.  This amount is sent to MYC Head office and pays for your materials for the year.  For first time students, the materials fee includes MYC books, a tin sheet with magnets, a castanet, and an MYC bag to carry all your music items to and from class!
