Kara North began her musical journey at age five with piano lessons under the 'Music for Young Children' program. She was born in Burlington, Ontario where she grew up in a musical family.
Throughout grade school, she competed in various competitions and attended many recitals. In addition, she also completed numerous levels of the Royal Conservatory of Music. After high school, she moved onto attend University where she studied music theory and performance. After teaching solo piano lessons, Kara decided to venture into the teaching of group lessons with Music for Young Children and revisit all of the musical critter friends she met as a child. She now teaches these group lessons weekly and loves to pass on the MAGIC of music through MYC! Today, Kara enjoys being a mother to her three young daughters. She also enjoys playing in weddings, accompanying church congregations, and inspiring others with her love for music through teaching. |
"We are very thankful we found a music teacher that is as passionate about teaching as she is about music. Kara teaches MYC in a fun and engaging way. My daughter looks forward to every class and is eager to practice throughout the week. We can't think of a better environment in which to develop skills that will benefit our children and bring them joy for many years to come."

"My eldest son had the privilege of being taught by Ms. Kara for three years. Her teaching style is relaxed and warm and she quickly makes a connection with her students and their families. Her love of music and her chosen profession is apparent in all she does: student specific lesson planning, skill level appropriate music games, themed activities, and contests around the seasons to motivate students to continue to practice regularly. As a parent with a background in music, I can say from experience that Ms. Kara is a teacher who truly goes above and beyond in her work.
