Kara North began her musical journey at age five with piano lessons under the 'Music for Young Children' program. She was born in Burlington, Ontario where she grew up in a musical family. As soon as she was able, she would play piano along with her sisters on the violin. Throughout grade school, Kara competed in various competitions and attended many recitals. In addition, she would complete numerous levels of the Royal Conservatory of Music. After high school, she moved onto attend University where she studied music theory and performance. After teaching solo piano lessons, Kara decided to venture into the teaching of group lessons with Music for Young Children and revisit all of the musical critter friends she met as a child. She now teaches these group lessons weekly and loves to pass on the MAGIC of music through MYC! When Kara's not teaching piano, she is enjoying being a mother to her four young children and a wife to Kevin. She also enjoys playing piano at weddings, accompanying her church congregation, and inspiring others with her love for music. When she's not on the piano, you can find her reading or watering her many plants! |
